  2. My Big Sis Chris!

My heart is truly broken. I know why the Holy Ghost is called the Comforter. It is so difficult to express the loss I feel. I Love You Chris!

  4. Dear Cook Family,

My mom just told me that you lost your sweet wife and mother this morning. Chris had a smile that could light up a room and a spirit to match. I extend my most heartfelt condolences to all of you. I pray for your peace and comfort during this difficult time.

  5. Kristi - words don't really suffice; however, I know from reading this blog that your mom and dad raised a Godly family and I pray that you feel His comfort - through the grief.

If you don't object, I would like to post Chris's obituary on my Aimless Blog (with her beautiful photo - with your permission).

God bless and comfort and sustain your family; I know you will miss Chris each and every day.

  6. It seems months ago, but as we add up the time, it was nearly 20 years ago we moved to Farmington. Four little boys in hand, we met our new Bishop, Jack D. Cook and his sweet wife who took us in as family. We hired their youngest daughter, Kristi, and taught her the difference between shadscale and saltbush. One of our fond memories was having a company party in the Cook back yard that first year, celebrating a successful summer-no wrecked cars, no one hurt and all the work got done.
As the years passed, whatever the calling, whatever the ward the Cooks were family. We lived with Jack and Chris for six weeks in the "Cook Hotel" while a new home was being built. That was a sad parting, to leave our dear friends and begin living in our own home. In no time, we were welcomed back. usually just before midnight to sit up for hours and finished some of those late night talks! We laughed, cried and often counseled each other in the early hours of the morning. What a blessing to know you two. Some say this life is made of strangers passing one another-- not for Chris, she knew everyone, and loved them dearly. What an example she was to us. Jack and I sometimes go to lunch, doesn't matter where we go, he is always greeted by a friend, usually several. Chris was no different, she made us all feel like we were her best friend, and the "Hotel" was always open.
In so many respects, we were the students, and were being taught by two of the best. May we all take those lessons Chris taught us, and be a better people, better parents, and especially better grandparents. We love you as family, miss you as family, and promise to never forget those precious times we had with you. With all our love, Bruce and Ruth Buchanan

  7. Chris was my laurel teacher many many years ago. I love going to YW with her as my teacher. She gave each of us in that class a beautiful white handkerchief to use in the temple when we got married. And we were suppose to put it in our scriptures until that day. I continue to keep mine in my scriptures to remind me how important temple marriage is.
