Day 20

Day 20 and life right now for Mom is pretty rough. She had great night. The nurses came in to stand her up this morning (she is unable stand or walk), they dropped her. This is the third time she has been dropped in the last ten days. She has so much fluid (it truly is unbelievable the amount of edema she has) that she is dead weight. She literally cannot stand on her own. Mom has so much fear from being dropped, she is scared to death to get out of bed. This has again set Mom back.

The results from the abscess showed Mom has E-coli. This was caused from removing some of the intestine during surgery. She is being treated
with antibiotic. Dr. Redding feels very strongly the E-coli caused the lungs to fill with fluid so rapidly after each drain. Yes she still has fluid in her lungs from the cancer, which is a concern, however the lungs are not filling at a rapid pace. A tremendous blessing.

Dr. Dobson switched her pain meds. That to is a blessing. She still has pain but is able to keep her pain level at a 7 instead of off the chart. Yes this seems endless but Mom is still fighting and is with us. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

  1. Chris is one strong lady to be dealing with so many things at once. She has an amazing spirit and must be quite a fighter to beat the pain each day. She is an inspiration to me in every way. Please tell her my family prays for her to have strength, peace, and ease in her pain everyday. I hope we all appreciate the health we enjoy, it is a gift not to be taken lightly. Love you all....

  3. My Sis Chris!!!

How I love you! It was great to hear your voice yesterday..you sounded so good. I feel that you will continue to recover from all these complications and get going on the Chemo! I can't stand to know of the pain you are experiencing. I am so proud of you for trying so hard and not giving up. You can lick this unmerciful cancer with the tender mercies of the Lord. The Lord knows what cancer feels like and all other struggles. He did this through the Atontement so He would know how to help you. I know you are being blessed even thou sometimes we wonder. He will never forsake you! Scott says Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are with you! We all know this. We so pray for medications to ease the pain! You are an amazing daughter of God! So incredibly strong and faithful. What a tremendous example of a Christlike living you are!!

I love you so much!!! Keep fighting! I know you are trying with every ounce and fiber of your being! Today will be a better day!!

    Love, your sis
